Placing image with description for selling and bid

The main thing when placing an image to describe the item you are selling is to take the main components where bidders will be interested to know and label them. This is because not everyone knows what exactly they are bidding unless they can see them for themselves.
For example if you are selling a book, make sure you take the picture of the front cover and maybe the back cover and

First I purchased a dummy
Then I selected from my bulging wardrobe... those pieces I thought were in good condition and would be in high demand...
Then I took a few digital pics....and presto.. I was ready to list....
I took a few tips from other sellers...

I used clear concise descriptions...

A Look at the Australian Gold Sovereign

Australa has long been amoung the largest gold-producing nations in the world. This fact is reflected in the level of international demand for our gold coins, many numismatists regard gold sovereigns as the core of the Australian numismatic collector market.
The production of sovereigns is closely connected with Australia's history of the 19th and early 20th centuries, and sovereigns from this period represent the first Australian coins to form an extensive and cohesive series. Collectors are attracted to the range of collecting opportunities in the soverein market: they may collect by date, mint, portrait or reverse type. They may choose to collect coins priced at little more than their precious metal value or to specialise only in coins of the highest quality. This diversity is reassuring to investors seeking security through sound levels of underlying demand.
The Adelaid Pound Type II Minted by the Adelaide Assay Office in 1852

This coin was struck from the new die created because of the failure of the first "cracked" die. The coin differs from the Type I having a crenellated inner circle on the reverse. Although it is estimated that approximately 25,000 coins were struck, only a small number were issued and those were immediately withdrawn from circulation for two reasons. Firstly, the coins were discovered to have more than one pounds worth of gold and silver, and secondly, Royal assent was not forthcoming and the coins had to be melted. There is estimated to be less than a few hundred examples known today and the coin is considered Rare in any condition and Very Rare in high quality.

How to sell your guitar for the best price...

In this guide I am going to provide some insight into how to get the best price and most interest for your guitar in an e-Bay auction.
I am going to break this guide into the various sections of your 'ad' on e-Bay and use a very basic and generic listing being a Fender Stratocaster; starting with:
Title:
Keep your title short and simple, describe the model i.e. 'Fender Stratocaster' the year i.e.'1978' and any other information such as 'Rare' or 'Limited run.' Don't add other things in such as 'LOOK!' and 'BUY IT!' these are off-putting to buyers and don't look very tactful or classy. So for example if you are selling a 1978 Fender Stratocaster that is very rare your title should look something like this '1978 Fender Stratocaster, Very Rare' or 'Fender Stratocaster, 1978, Rare'
Photograph:
Photo's are so important when selling an item, I mean there are hundreds of Fender Strat's on e-Bay and people tend to just zoom through the listings opening up whatever takes their eye so having a picture next to the title when people look through the listings is very important. Of course another important thing is having a few different shots of the item on your page. For selling a guitar these are the most ideallic angles; Front of the entire guitar [preferably in a guitar stand or upright], Back of entire guitar, Close-Up of Front of Body, Close up of Headstock, Dings [be sure to at least document the dings/dents/marks/scratches on your guitar and their severity - the buyer most know exactly what he/she is getting] The best pictures are taken during the day, outside and out of the sun. Most people hate looking at photos of a guitar or other item taken in a very dark or dim room with nothing but a big fat spot of flash reflecting off it. Also, very important for guitars is make sure you wipe it down good or even better polish it all over (Fender guitar polish works a treat on all guitars) it can be very off-putting seeing a photo of a guitar with mucky handprints and grease all over it. A sense of cleanliness will help sell your guitar for the price you want.Price:
Price is always a tricky one and perhaps the most vital thing in your listing, too high and no-body will bid, too low and you may not get the right price. So obviously you want to go somewhere in between. Usually people can see a rip-off - you mustn't forget also that the main reason people shop on e-Bay is to get a lower price for the item they want. Much of the time people don't know how much they paid for a guitar of what it is worth, and the very obvious solution is to look at similar listings and then evaluate your item, there may be features on it that would make it worth more like Seymour Duncan pickups or it may come with a hard case. If you know what you paid for it, work your way down on condition of the guitar, so you had a Fender Strat you bought new for $780 two years ago but it had

Ideas for Scrapbooking Pages

Some of the more popular ideas for scrapbooking pages are baby, weddings, holidays and family vacations.
When starting a scrapbook, it is important to have some of the following items--scissors, acid free paste and stickers and lots of ideas.
There are several different ideas you can use for your scrapbook that can be found in everyday life.
Going to the theater, a picnic and a new car just to name a few.
Graduation is a popular theme in the summer, and an easy page to create by adding photos of the graduate in their cap and gown and using the school colors add some graduation theme stickers.
Another of school themed ideas for scrapbooking pages is the first day of school. School themed pages are very easy to create, as there are a lot of school themed accessories for scrapbooking.
Baby book pages are very popular and are easy to create. Pink paper and ribbons for a little girl or cars and trains for a little boy are some ideas for the scrapbooking pages. With an abundance of baby themed items and stickers such as bottles, diaper pins, teddy bears and pacifiers there are many themes to choose from.
Family vacations are another very popular theme. Many people take lots of pictures of their vacation and then the pictures end up sitting in a box or drawer somewhere. By creating a scrapbook page or book of their vacation, you can have a fun, creative way to show off your vacation. If your vacation destination was the beach, seashells and fish are wonderful themes.
One of the more popular ideas for scrapbooking pages is of weddings. Creating a scrapbook of your wedding adds a more personal touch then the wedding books of old.
Using the wedding invitation as the focal point of the page is a wonderful way to start a wedding scrapbook. Some other ideas for scrapbooking pages of your wedding are adding the song lyrics to the first dance song, guest lists, flowers and vows.
It is important to decide on a theme before buying scrapbooking supplies to save on buying needless items. Once you have decided on the theme then make a list of the items you would like to have a handy reference to use at the store.

What to look for in a Guitar....

A question I get asked a lot by people is 'how do I find the guitar that's right for me?'
It's a problem many people face, especially with the pressure on e-Bay.
Being a left-handed shred/hard rock/metal player I'm pretty firm set in the instruments I like and what I want (Ibanez, Kramer, Jackson/Charvel - locking trems a must usually. ) but I am also faced with the challenge of FINDING them which is a time consuming process when I'm in the market for an axe. You righties have it a lot easier because of the wide range of guitars available everywhere to suit your style and taste - but just like everyone else not everyon knows exactly what they want and need so I have a system to help people find the right guitar for them
First you go by playing style, I'm very sure that a Death metal guitarist isn't going to buy a jazz guitar or a blues resonator guitar in the same way

A Guide to Domains and Hosting

Domains and Hosting
Are you interested in owning a website? Do you have a company which is quite big and maybe needs a website? This guide is for you. Many people these days are deciding to channel their advertisement and sales throughout the web these days and this will tell you how to get your bulding blocks.
Things you need to consider
What is your site going to be? Will it be personal, business, national, government based etc? How many visitors do you expect to have on your website per day? If you are expecting quite a lot then you will need to buy a hosting package with lots of bandwidth to support all the extra customers. Are you planning to go e-commerce? If yes then you will need a secure server hosting package with a dedicated IP address so you can purchase and run an SSL certificate on it. Who's going to design your website? You may want to ask friends and family if they are good or even ask a company and shop around for a good price.
The Domain
Domains need to be attractive with a slight sense of humour for personal websites with maybe a catch phrase or something similar. If it is for business then it needs to include the business name although if that is too long then it needs to be shortened, for example: Larry

Smart buyers guide to beer can collecting

An Introduction
As a experienced beer can collector I have searched every for cans, in old buildings under old dance halls and even under the sheep shearing shed!
There are many wonderful cans from over the world, so if your a new collector it's tempting to cast your net far and wide. You will find that all of a sudden you have run out of room( and the good wife's patience.). I used to be like that, then I decided to focus on 13 1/3 SS(straight sided) FT (flat tops) and sets.
One of the first things you should do if you have'nt already is join a club. This will in many cases be a reality check, as youll find that there are rare cans and there are RARE cans.
What to look for
Take notice what your club members' have in their trading box or are seeking. There are 2 terms in collecting in clubs trading( to trade for a can(s) of similar value or cans to "dispose" which means $$$ come into effect. Its a valuable to learn this so you dont get ripped off in the real world or on ebay.
Flat top cans or pre decimal cans are between 30-40 years old, commemorative cans pre 1980 ( not so much South Australian cans) are gaining in value.
Bulk lots at a reasonable price, with experience you will gain knowledge of what a can is worth. When purchasing bulk lots haggle the price to take to whole lot, its fair for you and the seller(usually at $1 a can). OK you will end up with cans for the recycling bin normally 50-60% ,20% good traders but if you do your homework you will end up with a great can. WARNING if the sellers says "one nice chap had a look through and took a few cans..." forget it your wasting your time.
What to avoid
Paying big bucks for cans like DUFF, unless your a die hard Simpsons fan your wasting your time. Count how many of these RARE cans are sold on e-bay or the trading post. And then see how many Courage footy stars or KB cans with Hebrew script are listed..... thought so. All Duff cans where to be scrapped due to copyright infringements, right? yeah right.......Like some cans from Tasmania and West Australia their value is artifically inflated. If I remember correctly these cans hit the shelves mid 90's and are still going strong.

Art Deco -guides and misunderstandings

Contrary to popular belief, the term Art Deco is a relatively new term. The period now called Art Deco is agreed upon by most experts to have started in 1925 with an international fair in Paris called "L'Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industrials Modernes," and ended in 1940 with the advent of WWII. At the time, there was no term for the new styles, and indeed artists frequently mixed some of the new style with some of the older styles in one piece. For example, I've seen a human figure done in a newer stylized form on a more Baroque base. One could call these pieces "transitional" if you're into labeling. Up until the mid-70's there was still no name for this new style. However, in the mid-70's there was a major retrospective exhibit of quality pieces that were very typical for that period. For the exhibit, the term "Art Deco" was coined from the name of the original Paris fair "Arts Decoratifs." There is no one style or form that defines "Art Deco." After WWI, the "Great War," there was a stylistic reaction to the excesses of both Victorian and Art Nouveau styles. Two of the most popular concepts of early Art Deco were either asymetrical geometrics, or stylized figures. Plants, animals, and human representations were frequently either made more geometric with straight lines rather than the natural curved ones, or exaggerated. Human figures were frequently thin and elongated or in somewhat bizarre poses, often reflecting the new dance styles, or on the opposite end of the spectrum, human scuptures were frequently made that simply represented current life, as opposed to historical figures. Sculptures of women dressed in clothing typical of the period placed in everyday poses were very common. Furniture was made with cleaner lines and an emphasis was made on the exposed materials used. Exotic woods with dramatic grains were used, often different woods or grains used in the same piece. One of the characteristics that exemplified early Art Deco was hand-made excellent quality pieces. This was nothing new but distinguishes early Art Deco from a dramatic shift that happened mid-way through the period. Commercial production was moving into the machine age, and designers decided to start creating modern articles that could be mass produced, and many things now started being made from more easily obtained materials that were "modern," such as chrome and steel, providing an modern look and a material that could be worked by machine rather than by hand. The emphasis on quality hand-made items changed to an emphasis on affordable, machine made items. Even quality sculptures made of bronze were also turned out in a cheap "pot" metal or spelter.

There are several misconceptions about what Art Deco is and isn't. Some people believe that anything made between 1925 and 1940 is automatically Art Deco. This isn't true. As is true today, in that period there were still many different styles being used. One would not call a chair made in 1935 in the style of Louis XVI "Art Deco." To truly be called Art Deco, an item (or building) should in some way exhibit what could be called the "modern" style. Another very common misconception is that anything of a "modern" design made before 1990 can be called Art Deco. Again, this isn't true. The 40's had their own modern style which is not Art Deco. The same is true of the 50's (frequently called "Moderne" pronounced mow-dare-n), and each decade after had it's own new, modern style. Absolutely an item can be made even today reproducing an Art Deco style, but they should be called Art Deco style, not Art Deco.

Having said all this, however, while the period of Art Deco is "officially" recognized as 1925 to 1940 (if one is going to admit that there even IS such a thing as "Art Deco"), one also must realize that artists and designers started using modern designs before 1925 and the machine age which typifies late Art Deco continued later than 1940. A good example of this is the designer Charles Eames, and indeed many items that are typical of the 40's and 50's machine age are said to be from the Eames Era. While Charles Eames started designing prior to WWII, it's debatable as to whether his work is truly "Art Deco." Again, it could be called "transitional." Many of his designs for furniture would not be recognized as being typical of the Art Deco period.

What to do when you get negative feedback

What to do when you get negative feedback

Getting negative feedback, especially if you feel it was undeserved (e.g. from an impatient member, someone suffering from overbid guilt, etc), can spoil what would otherwise be a perfect record. eBay has a procedure where members can apply to have negative feedback removed, but this is only allowed under certain circumstances, such as obscenity, mistaken identity, posting private information, etc.

So where does this leave you if you feel hard done by an unfair comment?

However angry or upset you may be, retaliating with anger won't help the situation. Contact the other party calmly, and try to understand why they left the comment. Explain your side of the situation, especially if it was caused by something beyond your control e.g. postal misdirection, customs delays, etc.

Some kind words and diplomacy can work wonders, and ask the other party if they will consider a mutual withdrawal of the feedback. Although the comments won't disappear, at least the negative now won't count against your score.

And don't forget, both parties can also add a follow-up to the negative comment explaining how it was resolved.

Cleaning and Polishing Guide

Before buying expensive household cleaners, use the following:White VinegarAll purpose household cleaner, use with lemon and hot water to clean dishes and surfaces from stone floors and benchtops, to toilet bowls and basins. I recommend 25% vinegar to 70% water and 5% lemon. If you like vinegar then put as more as you like. However, vinegar is an acid so don't use it on your silverware or any expensive cutlery that you will be very sorry to ruin. Don't use it with jewellery. Pearls shrink and lose their nacre if you leave it in vinegar. LemonsIf vinegar is too strong use FRESH lemons instead, not the lemons in containers you buy at the supermarket. Mix with hot water to freshen up smells. Put a slice of lemon in a glass of water and place it in the fridge/windowsill to get rid of odours. I have seen jeweller shops put this in their window fronts.Lavender OilPut 2 or 3 drops of this on your bed sheets for that lovely smell. You don't want too much as it will reek. Instead of buying expensive drawer liners, again place a drop or two of lavender oil and your drawers will smell nicely.Olive OilUse as a lip balm, getting rid of dry skin, drinking a tablespoon to get rid of incessant coughing, smoothing hair (not too much you don't want it too oily!) and generally a good moisturiser.Cleaning a Leather JacketI inherited an old leather brown jacket and I was looking online to find ways to clean it without buying expensive "for leather jackets only" cleaners with the ingredients I had available. I experimented with the following: 4/5 olive oil, 1/5 white vinegar and a couple of drops of lavender oil enough to overpower the smell of the vinegar. And it worked magnificently! Basically sponge the mixture on to the jacket, wipe the liquid excess and polish with a cloth. I only experimented this on the outside and not the inside. The cracks of the leather managed to soften. I'm not sure if this will work on new leather jackets but I had nothing to lose with my old leather one. If you think something is wrong, stop immediately. Trust your instincts.

BUYING A CAR ON eBay MY GUIDE!!!!!!

Buying a car on eBay by Connections7.

You can save alot of time and money by buying a car on ebay yet their
are things you must look out for, I have personally purchased 2 cars of
ebay so I know alot about this area of ebay research, research and more
research are a must when buying a car on ebay, please take a few
minutes out of your time to read this guide on buying a car on eBay,

Firstly their are positives and negatives of buying cars on ebay, Some
positives are it will save alot of your time by purchasing a car on
ebay, also you have a chance to save a quite a large amount of money on
both the cars I have purchased I have saved over $3000 on the retail
price. Some negatives are that you could be buying a car thats commonly
known as a "lemon" this means the car is a bad buy their are ways to
get around this but and I will explain how to sucessfuly not buy a
"lemon". Also another negative is that the car might be some distance
away from you, yet it may be worth paying 100 or 200 dollars for a air
line ticket to in turn save a few thousand dollars.

Now I will explain a few tips on buying cars on ebay, some things to
look out for before making your purchase and also what to do after the
purchase.

1) The seller

Research the seller, basically look at the sellers feedback. If the
seller has good feedback I in terms of good feedback classed as one or
two negatives and the rest are positives.
If the seller has around 200 positives and something like 8 negatives
then maby steer clear of them, also check out the comments people leave
on neutral feedback, don't be scared to take some time and check over
the users profile, as the purchase you are thinking of making is a big
one.

2) The Description

Check out the information in the description, this is a big point in
the ad read the description over a few times. Some people use large
descriptions to trick people into bidding on a item and missing vital
information, for example their could be a essay style description and
right at the bottom their is a statement that states car has a massive
scratch on the side!

3) Checking the Engine number and VIN number

Next step is to check the engine number and VIN number on
www.revs.nsw.gov.au IT IS A MUST TO CHECK THESE DETAILS as the car
might have had accident history or might have money oweing on it or
might even be stolen!

4)

Bullies in society

I would like to take this opportunity to give some people my experience in this topic. I was inspired to write about Bullies because my neice-in-law has come up to me, asking for help about what to do against bullies especially in school. School Bullies are the worse of all bulling tatics because whatever bulling happens in school, it is garuanteed to have a long term effect on your child throughout their adult hood lives. So please, PARENTS, dont think that bulling isnt serious and that your child is only whinging because they are not whinging and it is serious and that it is not the part of growing up where you would want your child to learn from their particular bulling experience. Its funny how the government only months ago had ad campaigns to stop bullies in school yet it still hasnt work. Am i the only person who is concerned at the Governments lack of effort to support our children who is, let me remind you all, the future of Australia,'the children is our future'. If we dont put all our efforts into discplining kids and giving them the best that we could, how are we to guarantee that our future isnt going to be bleak and full of Chaos? My point is, with all the ad campaigns in an attempt to stop the bullies in the school society, well than, where is all the money, OUR TAX PAYERS' money, going to? Sure we cant get rid of all the bullies because it is part of our nature. It only happens when one person feels threatened by another and needs a confidence boost or those who are just plain malice and do it for the fun of it. But that just reflects how our society has gone derailed because we make our children depend on technology so much that they find it hard to use their creativity to entertain themselves when they get bored.
I remembered when i went to school, my mother would only send me to a private school because the first primary public school i went to was so bad. The teachers basically have no morals all discipline to teach the children, they only do what they have to do in their job descrip, ie teach and answer questions. They never care about bullies and basically turn a blind eye to it, some public school teachers are that

Costume Jewellery, What are you really paying for?

Costume Jewellery has many terms that confuse new and even some of the more experienced buyers. Rhodium, Silver, Gold Plating, 18ct Gold Plating, Cubic Zirconia.... The list goes on and on. This guide will outline some of the key terms and shortcomings of the Costume Jewellery market and hopefully make you aware of what to watch out for when buying Costume Jewellery.
Costume Jewellery
The term Costume Jewellery refers to jewellery made from less valuable materials rather than precious metals and gems, Costume Jewellery is mainly used for fashion purposes. Most Costume Jewellery is plated with Gold, Silver or Rhodium, which will eventually wear off. While Costume Jewellery does not last forever, you can achieve the look of real Jewellery for a mere fraction of the price.
Costume Jewellery Stores
We have all seen the carts in shopping centers selling silver rings for the bargain price of $3. What is the difference between these rings and the $45 pieces of Jewellery sold by Costume Jewellery specialists? Specialists use specification plating to ensure quality, which means a certain amount of gold, rhodium or silver is used on each piece, rather than the $3 ring which gets dipped quickly. As the real cost of jewellery comes from the plating it is easy to see why the cart at the shopping center can sell for $3, they have no guarantee their piece is even fully covered.
Rhodium Plating
Rhodium is a silvery-white metal that is a relative newcomer to the Costume Jewellery scene. It is very hard and shiny, however is more expensive than using Gold plating as is generally discarded in Costume Jewellery due to high sots. It is generally darker than silver, and does not tarnish, making longer lasting better quality pieces.
Gold Plating
Gold plating is sometimes used with a carat weight to try to impress buyers and confuse them. 18ct Gold plated jewellery is very common, meaning the gold plating contains 75% actual gold. Very cheap jewellery uses less than this or very thin layers of Gold plating which wear off quickly. AS stated above, the main costs of Jewellery is the plating so the very cheap pieces generally will only have low carats and thin layers of plating.
Silver Plating
Silver plating is the same as gold plating, except the silver used in plating is usually low quality, and prone to tarnishing. Beware the seller advertising silver and producing stainless steel , as they are quite similar in colour. Stainless steel is now number stamped by law and should you recieve stainless steel instead of silver, report the seller to eBay immediatly.
Cubic Zirconia
Cubic Zirconia is a mineral that is widely synthesised as a diamond look a like. It generally is very hard and cheap, an is very popular in Costume Jewellery and sometimes use

Typogravures

A Typogravure is a 19th Century term describing a process of reproducing (printing) an image on paper. Also called a Relief Half Tone, this denotes the half-tone process, a form of Chemical Engraving. Whereas etchings and engravings are created by carving a design into a wood or metal plate, before inking and printing onto paper, a typogravure image is made by creating raised dots (or relief) on the printing plate. The plate is then inked and paper applied under light pressure, rather like a stamp. Colour typogravures began apprearing around the 1890's and were printed using three separate half-tone blocks. The best examples of the typogravure process are on shiny paper.

Effective Selling

Selling ladies clothing is highly competitive and I have found one golden rule that always works.
There is nothing dishonest or sinister about this method.
Always show the clothing photograph at the top of the page with the description underneath, on eBay it is very much a case of the visual and the clearer the picture, the better.
Do try displaying clothing on a mannequine as on a coathanger it loses dimention and appeal.
Good Shopping to All.

BASIC KATANA MAINTENANCE

Prevention is always better than a cure and preventing rust from occurring is always better than having it removed. If
your sword is made from carbon steel (if it's not stainless steel) you will
need to maintain a LIGHT coat of non organic oil (mineral oil) on the blade at all
times. The oil should be reapplied regularly. How long depends
on factors such as how humid its storage environment is (every 3 or so months should do). Before
reapplying, the old coat of oil should be removed with a white piece of
cloth. Try to wipe in a single direction. Once you have completed applying the coat of oil, do not touch
the blade with your fingers or you risk rust developing on the blade. There are oil made specifically for this purpose called choji
oil. Sword manufacturers such as Hanwei also make an oil designed for this purpose. Traditional maintenance kits, besides containing choji oil, contain other items such as tools that allow the dis-assembly of a katana. Whether you use these specialty oils or normal mineral oil is up to you.Updated 9 April 2009

Buying DVDs at the LOWEST price possible

eBay stores are a haven for finding low-price DVDs. They are also a haven for finding OVER-priced DVDs.

Many eBay stores tend to mark up their DVDs, making up to a 300% profit in comparison to the recommended retail price.

It is interesting to search for a particular DVD, and discover that there is a significant price range for the same title.

While shopping for DVDs, it is important not to buy a DVD from the first seller you come across, but rather use PATIENCE and compare the prices from a handful of sellers.

Here are some examples (as at 20/05/07) from eBay stores:
__________________________________________________________
DVD: "Into the Blue" [Brand New]
JJA Entertainment - $39.99
Yanlou6868 - $34.78
Movie Mars - $25.71
Elite Entertainment - $14.94

PRICE DIFFERENCE: $25.05
Same item- drastic price range between stores!

__________________________________________________________
DVD: "Raise Your Voice" [Brand New]
JJA Entertainment - $44.99
Aussie Gamer - $41.00
Yanlou6868- $35.05
Elite Entertainment - $14.94

PRICE DIFFERENCE: $30.05
Same item - even greater price range between stores!

__________________________________________________________
DVD "Alias Season 3" [Brand New]
JJA Entertainment - $104.99
Entertainment House - $94.95
Gift Station DVD Zone - $59.95
Shop 4 DVD - $44.95
Elite Entertainment - $32.98

PRICE DIFFERENCE: $72.01
Same item - totally ridiculous price range between stores!

__________________________________________________________

As you can see by this very small example, eBay Buyers are being ripped off in many cases!

Would you seriously pay up to $72 more for the exact same DVD?!

I am an eBay DVD Seller and I know exactly how much it costs to buy DVDs wholesale from the distributors. The answer is: not much.

PSP and Video Ipod

I wanted to just give my opinion about PSP and Ipod Video
I have both and to tell you the truth, Ipods are over rated, Yes they are!
The PSP is great for playing games and watching videos, and the battery is easy to replace!!
The Video Ipods are really only for playing music, the video screen is too small to view for long time, and the battery is very difficult to replace, you have to take the whole thing apart to replace the battery.
Also the video Ipod comes with next to nothing on instructions, there is a downloadable manual but this is not convenient.

Quad band (also known as quad-band or quadband) literally means four bands. Most people come across the term when it is used to describe a mobile phone supporting four frequency bands. Care

All artworks on paper have the possibility that time will fade or
discolour both the paper and the media used (paint, ink, glue, ect). If
the materials used are high quality it will assist this not to happen,
but much relies on environmental conditions.Manufacturer of art
supplies usually offer information on the archival nature of their
products. If you are concerned about the expected life span on an
artwork on paper contact the artist directly and ask about the quality
of paint or inks used and whether the paper is acid free.

Royal Albert Old Country Roses Back Stamps Updated 9/07

I just spoke by phone with both Royal Doulton UK and Royal Doulton United states regarding this issue.
A little confused myself, because I have been collecting and also selling this china pattern for sometime, I sought an answer to the belief that no further Old Country Roses products were manufactured in England.
Here is the answer I received on both sides:
If a NEW product is manufactured in the United Kingdom, the manufacturer must place a sticker on that item stating where it was manufactured. Not all pieces necessarily state "England" in the back stamp if they are new.
If a Royal Albert product is manufactured elsewhere, the manufacturer also requires a sticker. The other factory is located in Indonesia.
There is, in fact, currently stock being manufactured and coming out of England, however.

Verified through manufacturer that this piece, although the back stamp does not state "England," was manufactured in the UK because of the clearly labeled sticker and bar code attached by the manufacturer.

Closer view of the manufacturer's sticker and bar code...
Therefore, if the sticker is absent from the product itself, we cannot really be sure where it originated most of the time. If the sticker is absent and the backstamp clearly states the location, then we can be sure of its origin.
This guide applies to newly made Royal Albert Old Country Roses

How to Fit a Bicycle Helmet

Time invested in fitting a helmet pays big safety and comfort dividends!

Your objective: Snug, Level, Stable
You want the helmet to be comfortably touching the head all the way around, level and stable enough to resist even violent shakes or hard blows and stay in place. It should be as low on the head as possible to maximize side coverage, and held level on the head with the strap comfortably snug.
Be Prepared for the Worst
Heads come in many sizes and shapes. You should be prepared for the possibility that the helmet you are trying to fit may not be compatible with this particular head. And unfortunately, you should expect to spend ten to fifteen minutes to get your helmet properly fitted.
1. Adjust the fit pads or ring
Helmets that fit with pads come with at least one set of foam fitting pads, and if you got a second set of thicker pads it can be used to customize the shape. For starters, you can often remove the top pad entirely or use the thinnest ones. This lowers the helmet on the head, bringing its protection down further on the sides. It may reduce the flow of cooling air slightly, but probably not enough to notice.
Adjust the side fit pads by using thicker pads if your head is narrow and there is a space, or add thicker pads in the back for shorter heads. You may also move pads around, particularly on the "corners" in the front and rear. Leaving some gaps will improve air flow. The pads should touch your head evenly all the way around, without making the fit too tight. The pads may compress slightly over time, but not much, so do not count on that to loosen the fit. The helmet should sit level on the head, with the front just above the eyebrows, or if the rider uses glasses, just above the frame of the glasses. If you walk into a wall, the helmet should hit before your nose does!
There are also helmets on the market that use a fitting ring rather than side pads for adjustment. With these one-size-fits-all models you begin by adjusting the size of the ring. Some of them may require the ring so tight for real stability on your head that they feel binding, but loosening the ring can produce a sloppy fit, indicating that the helmet is not for you.
2. Adjust the straps
Now put the helmet on and fasten the buckle. Be sure the front is in front! You want to adjust it to the "Eye-Ear-Mouth" test developed by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine:

When you look upward the front rim should be barely visible to your eye

Hear Your Baby's Heartbeat When You Are Pregnant

There is no better sound than the sound of your baby's heartbeat from the womb. Purchasing or renting a fetal Doppler can be a great way for you and your family (especially soon-to-be siblings) to bond with your baby.
There are many sounds that can be heard with a fetal Doppler including kicks, hiccups and, of course, your baby's heartbeat. A fetal heartbeat can be heard with a fetal Doppler as early as 8-10 weeks. Follow the tips below to get the most out of your Doppler.
Always start with a full bladder, especially in the early weeks (weeks 8-14). This will help to bring your uterus up out of your pelvic cavity Place a small (quarter-sized) amount of gel on your abdomen. Start in the middle at the pubic bone if you are in the first trimester, and up by your belly button if you are more than 20 weeks along.
Place the probe directly on top of the gel and turn the unit on. Move the probe in a VERY SLOW circular motion moving side to side across your abdomen. If your fetal Doppler has an LCD heart-rate readout, do not try to read the display until you can hear your baby's heartbeat. Your heart beats at about 60-80 beats per minute, the fetus has a heart-rate between 120-180.
Not hearing the heartbeat before 12-14 weeks is not a sign that anything is wrong with your baby or your pregnancy. Hearing the heartbeat as early as 10 weeks isn't always possible and how early a fetal heartbeat can be heard will depend largely on a number of factors including: Type of Doppler being used: Be sure that your Doppler is in fact a 'fetal Doppler' and not a prenatal listener. Some of the products available do not utilize the same technology as a fetal Doppler and cannot detect a fetal heartbeat until after 30 weeks. Also, different types of fetal Dopplers vary with regards to sensitivity and durability. Not all fetal Dopplers are created equally. The size and shape of the mother: Taller women and women who are overweight may have a more difficult time hearing the heartbeat in the early weeks. However, by 12-14 weeks, a Doppler should be able to pick up a heartbeat in women of all shapes and sizes. Inaccurate due date: Sometimes it is difficult to determine a due date. If your due date is off by a week or more, you may be expecting to hear the heartbeat earlier than would be possible.
Misinformation: A fetal heart will begin to beat at around 5-6 weeks' gestation. Although an ultrasound machine will be able to detect this by about 6 weeks, a fetal Doppler cannot detect a heartbeat until closer to 8-10 weeks. An ultrasound machine uses very powerful probes (5-10 Mhz) at a much higher output level (up to 720 Mw/cm2) whereas a fetal Doppler only uses a 2-3 Mhz probe at a much lower level of less than 20 mw/cm2. For this reason, fetal Dopplers are unable to detect a heartbeat before 8 weeks and usually not before 10-12 weeks. Dont be misled. If someone says she heard her baby's heartbeat at 6 weeks, she is probably referring to an ultrasound scan.

A recent addition to the world of games, CCG (Collectable Card Games) started in 1993 with Richard Garfield creating a game called 'Magic the Gathering' (MtG).
A CCG is not purchased all at the one time, in fact you may never have the whole game.

Compatible Ink Cartridges

Compatible inkjet cartridges are another economical option. These are original, new ink jet cartridges that have not been remanufactured, but instead, are produced by a company other than the printer manufacturer. These cartridges can be purchased at lower prices than their brand name counterparts, and then refilled. There are patents protecting some brand name cartridges, and compatibles will not be available for those model. However, suppliers of compatible inkjet cartridges often offer brand name cartridges as well, usually at a significant discount. Compatible EPSON cartridges cannot be refilled with much success. They have a very porous sponge in the cartridge which fills with air as the ink leaves. You need to use a vacuum pump to displace the air when trying to refill the cartridge. Often a refill kit is not sold if a compatible cartridge is available.
Compatible inkjet cartridges vary greatly in quality. Look for a company that manufactures their cartridges using the same ISO standards as brand name manufacturers. A

Buying Womens High Heel Shoes

Cat/Kitten Treats

For many people, being a cat or kitten owner goes hand-in-hand with constantly wanting to buy a new little toy to amuse your feline friend.
Of course, it's nice (and fun) to buy a multitude of toys; but it can also be justified by the fact that it is so important to keep your cat stimulated. Toys are beneficial to both the mental and physical wellbeing of cats; particularly indoor kitties.
Cats are curious about (and happy to play with) many things; but when they develop a penchant for things that you'd rather they didn't touch, toys can also be a great attention diverter.
Not to mention that playing with toys together helps improve your bond with your kitty!
Basic Pleasures
Many cats love little things that they can instinctively (and very imaginatively!) swat, hunt, chase, hide - and hide inside.
The simplest box or shopping bag can delight a cat; as can ribbons, string, balls of wool and crinkled bits of paper.
As you get to know your cat, you will learn more about his/her personality and therefore be able to better determine what is appealing - and safe - for your cat.
For food-type treats always check on the packets particularly for the recommended age (just like kids toys).

Here are more of our Jewellery Care Tips.Personal Care ProductsThrough our daily grooming rituals, we are frequently exposed to various chemicals which may not harm us, but could be harmful to our jewelry: hair spray, mouse, body lotion, moisturizer, perfume, make-up, shaving cream, and soap, just to name a few. These chemicals can leave a residue on jewelry, creating a dull film that is very difficult to remove. To prevent this buildup, remove your jewelry before bathing and grooming, and put it on right before you get on with your day. Think of your jewelry as the finishing touch.

Avoid being ripped off by the "second chance" scammers

I buy and sell guitars on eBay, and for some reason, guitar sales seem to attract the scammers more than say, computer or camera sales. The most common scam, is a "second chance" offer, made not by the original seller, but by someone else, either using a legitimate but "hijacked" eBay account, or simply sending emails to all of the bidders on an item.

The first time I received one of these emails, it was sent from a legitimate eBay account, from someone who had high positive feedback, however, in the text of the email, it said "do not contact me through eBay, only through my email address", which immediately arouse suspicion.

The next time I received one of these emails, it was from a "fake" domain that didn

Hardware
ask for close up pictures of the item you wish to inspect if its scratched it could be alright but if it is worn dont go for it (in this sport you need everything to be as new and reliable as possible)
Forks
downhilling requires a great deal of heavy duty equipment for forks i would recomend triple clamp or upside down forks with a thru axel. i do not recomend quick release it could be dangerous
Frame
i would recomend dual suspension frames but an extremely sturdy hard tail will do but it could limit your bikes ability to cope withe the harsh conditions
Crank
pedals with sharp studs are recomended not easy on the shins but you can wear shin pads to stop that. it is good to not have a front derailer and to have a bash guard and chain guides to stop damage to the chain and crank
Gear
i recomend a full face helmet with goggles, body armour shin pads and enclosed shoes with a thick sole.

Airplay2 Benefits; THE nano's perfect companion!

This short guide will assist you in deciding which fm transmitter to get for your ipod. There are currently a few of offer, by the two best are the xtrememac airplay2, and the kensington transmitter. The Xtrememac can be purchased for much less, does the exact same job, and can also be used with any radio, not just a car unit as is the case with the kensington unit.I personally have an ipod nano, and the xtrememac airplay2 fits it perfectly, provides awesome reception, and allows me to charge it at the same time. I also tested this unit with another ipod (a 20gb photo one) and it works just the same... The only major difference being that it fits the nano MUCH better than any other larger ipod. I real problem with this transmitter is that it uses a LARGE amount of the battery life... For me I found that it lasted about 3 hours, and by then all the nano's battery life was drained. So if you were to get one, also consider purchasing a car charger to go with it.The last thing work mentioning is that the blue screen looks so good, it is soo small, and you can get a bargain on ebay... Compared to other fm transmitters, you can pick one up for less than half the RRP of $100 that stores offer it for.Since this unit is offered in either black and white, i purchased a black one as it matches my black nano perfectly. It only adds about one inch to the length, and is just as wide. It is as thin as the nano, and even comes with a case to be able to keep it on the dash board in the car. Also the reception range is not so far, by attaching a wire about 18centimeters long to the side of the unit will, according to this site (http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/215/94/), allow it to transmit music for over 25 meters. So what are you waiting for? With such a good unit, go and BID on it; or go and buy it now!

Guide to buying used furniture

How and What to Inspect- Always enquire for an inspection if able or ask for more photos about any concerns you have about the furniture.- Expect that the quality of the desk is not perfect, however, at least you make sure that you only bid on used furniture that are made of quality material. You want to bid with confidence not fear.- Check the dimensions of the furniture and see if it would fit into the area you want to put it in. Very important thing is to also check if the entrance is big enough for the furniture to get in. You don't want to buy a furniture that can't get into your office or home and end up sitting in your garage. Check the seller out- Check to see if the seller has a good record or have been a good seller in the past selling used furniture or similar items.- Check if delivery is available. If so, how much does it cost. Make sure the delivery cost is factored into the full price of the furniture.Start bidding and/or get Lucky- Evaluate how much you would be willing to pay for the item, feel
confident with your price and start bidding. Nothing beats winning, but
you will feel happier if you've won knowing that you stuck to your
valuation. On the other hand, if you lose, at least you know that was
the price you're willing to pay and also to walk away from. Paying any
higher to win won't make you a totally satisfied customer.- If the auction is pick up only, always double check with the seller the address of where the item is located before heading out for the pick up. - If Cash on Delivery is an option, do that. Kindly ask if a discount is available despite the bidding price on ebay but do not push it any further, afterall you've agreed to pay for that price anyway. But if you do not ask, you will not get lucky.

How to save yourself alot of money when listing Items

Hi my Name

Orignal From: How to save yourself alot of money when listing Items

Selling Books: Easier, Better Prices,

When selling a few books from your personal collection on eBay, it can be a great IDEA to creatively group two or more books into one sale. The BENEFITS are you get one auction to manage (one person to email, one transaction, one trip to the post box), buyers may be more willing to pay a little more for the books due to the automatically-combined postage, and you are potentially making it easier and more interesting for your potential buyer.BUT it's not just a matter of auctioning a couple of books at once. BE IMAGINATIVE with your grouping. Think about what appealed to you when you acquired the books in the first place. Was it that they sounded exotic? Did the cover spark your interest in some way? With travel guides or maps did they appear handy? So, for example you have a book by a Japanese author and an Indian one dealing fictionally with a historical Japan and Indian. These books appealed to you because they made you think of far-off exciting places. Auction them together with this premise, begin the auction spiel with "For those who love to dream of different times and different places..." An easy to read LAYOUT might then include a couple of blank lines, then the title of the book, it's author, if the book is a paperback or hard-cover, the condition of the book (fair, good, excellent, never read), and any mentionable signs of damage (creases, if it is "well-read", e.g. a little dog-eared, or yellowed with age). Another blank line and include the blurb from the back in quote marks, the publisher has spent more time marketing the book that you have or need to! A TIME-SAVER here is to search the web for the book and see if someone has typed up the blurb on a book-selling website and copy this. You can also grab quotes from good reviews and include them this was too. Be sure to include quote marks and credit the person/publication which also gives the quote added context. The PICTURE is important, it quickly gives the buyer impressions of the seller, for example, if carefully taken (i.e. good lighting, well composed), they might assume the seller is careful and pays attention to detail. So use an interesting, relevant background. Coordinate with the covers, does a red wall make the picture more asthetically pleasing, could you photograph your Sydney travel guide, Sydney restaurant guide and Sydney street map (aren't you clever in your grouping?) at the top of your apartment building as it has a great view of the harbour bridge and Opera house in the background. This is all done with the hope that it mentally puts the buyer in an inspired position to think how their life might be better with your book!

Poker Sets

If you are looking for a good and cheap poker set, then eBay is one of the best places to get one. Rather than paying hundreds for one in the store, you can get some really good quality ones quite cheaply, on eBay.

But you need to make sure that you have purchased the right poker set to suit your needs.
The best search, with which you will get the most results, is "poker set" plus the number of chips you want. (eg. poker set 500

Second Hand Clothing

Ebay's most popular catagory is Clothing and Acessories in Australia.
Although Ebay has strict rules apon listing clothing, we can all still
be worried that the item wont be in "great" condition like stated, the
item will not fit us or worst of all the item is paid for but never
recieved. This guide will provide information on situations and
suggestions that will help you make the right choice when bidding on an
item.

First of all, all hygenic clothing must be brand new. Ebay prohibits items such as boxer shorts, lingerie, swinwear, leotards, panties, briefs and certain athletic garments to be listed on ebay unless they are new. Consequences for selling these items used are:

Listing Cancellation
Limits on account priledges
Account suspension
Forfiet of ebay fees on cancelled items
Loss of powerseller status

When bidding on a garment, make sure you know what size you are.
Remember, it is not the seller's fault if the item does not fit you
(unless listing was incorrect).
Another helpful tip to remember, is that all brands have different
sizing, especially designer clothing. Designer clothing have small
sizes, and are not the same to your surf wear sizes.

So how can you be sure if it will fit you? Ask Questions!

Ebay members will have the time to answer your questions about an item
they are selling. Be precise when asking questions, and cleary state
what you would like to know. Not all used items will have measurements
on thier listing, so if in doubt ask them for measurements (bust, outer
leg etc).

Lastly, dont fret if you have paid for an item and you have not
recieved it. In another guide, you will be able to find out what course
of action you are able to take if this occurs.

I hope this guide has been helpful.

Tips to not get stooged by - A Buyer beware guide.

This is not a difinitive guide to stop you as a Buyer being ripped off on Ebay,
as criminals are always coming up with new ways to steal, but it does
highlight some simple and easy things you can check to help you make your
own, more informed decision about a Seller before parting with your hard earned cash.Ok, so you want to get a brand new mobile phone? and you want to get it for an eighth of the price?Well as you know, on ebay anything is possible.BUUUUUUUT, when i say that, just remember that ANYTHING is possible! Good or bad. There's an age old saying: Too good to be true. This saying has lasted the test of time for good reason. In ebay as in life, things are often too good to be true....BUYERS BEWARE
Before purchasing anything on Ebay I always check the following, - The Seller uses paypal or direct deposit (within my own country) If using direct deposit to a bank account in another country, I may be charged with a $20 telegraphic transfer fee from my back, which may push the price higher than that I'd pay in a store.- The Seller does not use Western Union. Ebay recommends against buying through Western Union for good reason, if someone is only offering this then chance is extremely high that it is a Fraudulent Seller.- The Seller must not ask me to contact them via email outside of ebay. (Where there is no evidence of a binding contract of sale)- The Seller does not have any negative feedback, or if they do it has to be preportionally low, eg 2 bad feedbacks within 5000 sales. - If buying an expensive item, research the seller, they may appear to have sold many items, 500 etc, but if you look through them, they may all be $1 in value and the names of the buyers may be repeated. So they seller may look like a power seller and someone whom can be trusted, but the reality is they are just creating a flase sense of security in the hope you will hand over your hard earned cash.- If you are looking to hand over a lot of cash, extemem checking is required. Look through the sellers recent buyers, then look through those buyers recent buyers if they are sellers. If they have "bought" from each other it is a bad sign that they are falsely inflating each others sales.-
